[ ]The Sorting Hat (1 sub-board)
Oh you may not think me pretty,
But don't judge on what you see,
I'll eat myself if you can find
A smarter hat than me.

"Sings a different [song] every year. It's got to be a pretty boring life, hasn't it, being a hat? I suppose it spends all year making up the next one." Ron Weasley

[ ]Platform nine and three quarters
"Well, there you are, boy. Platform nine -- platform ten. Your platform should be somewhere in the middle, but they don't seem to have built it yet, do they?"
-- Vernon Dursley, PS6
00
[ ]Hogwarts Express
"Funny way to get to a wizard's school, the train. Magic carpets all got punctures, have they?"

[ ]Shops in Diagon Alley
"Harry wished he had eight more eyes.... There were shops selling robes, shops selling telescopes and strange silver instruments Harry had never seen before, windows stacked with barrels of bat spleens and eels' eyes, tottering piles of spell books, quills, and rolls of parchment, potion bottles, globes of the moon...."

Hogwarts Castle

[ ]Slytherin Common Room
Or perhaps in Slytherin
You'll make your real friends
Those cunning folk use any means
To achieve their ends.
00
[ ]Hufflepuff Common Room
These belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal.
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true
And unafraid of toil.
00
[ ]Potions
I can teach you how to bottle fame, brew glory, even stopper death -- if you aren't as big a bunch of dunderheads as I usually have to teach."
-- Severus Snape (PS8)
00
[ ]Kitchens
To get to the kitchens, take the door to the right of the main staircase in the entrance hall. Follow the corridor until you come to a painting of a bowl of fruit. Tickle the pear and it giggles and becomes a door handle.
00
Ground Floor
[ ]Entrance Hall
"'PEEVES!' yelled an angry voice. 'Peeves, come down here at ONCE!'

'Peeves, get down here NOW!' barked Professor McGonagall…
'Not doing nothing!' cackled Peeves, lobbing a water bomb at several fifth-year girls, who screamed and dived into the Great Hall. 'Already wet, aren't they? Little squirts! Wheeeeeeeeee!' And he aimed another bomb at a group of second-years who had just arrived.
'I shall call the Headmaster!' shouted Professor McGonagall. 'I'm warning you, Peeves –'
Peeves stuck out his tongue, threw the last of his water bombs into the air and zoomed off up the marble staircase, cackling insanely."

Beware of Peeves as you enter...
00
[ ]The Great Hall
It is a vast chamber with an enchanted ceiling that mirrors the sky outside. Four long tables for the four houses. Closest to the doors from the Entrance Hall is Slytherin, then Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and next to the far wall, Gryffindor The teachers sit at the High Table, a table on a raised platform at the front of the room.
00
[ ]Staff Room
Where tired teachers come rest and get away from students...
00
[ ]Filch's office
Filch's office is a small room with a single oil lamping hanging from the ceiling. It smells of fried fish. In it are filing cabinets with details of the misdeeds of students. Fred and George have an entire drawer to themselves.
00
First Floor
[ ]Deputy Head's Office

00
[ ]Muggle Studies
"But it'll be fascinating to study [Muggles] from the wizarding point of view."
-- Hermione Granger (PA4)
00
[ ]History of Magic
Well, I hope you've read Hogwarts, a History for this one.
00
[ ]Defence Against the Dark Arts
Snape to Lupin: "Possibly no one's warned you, Lupin, but this class contains Neville Longbottom. I would advise you not to entrust him with anything difficult. Not unless Miss Granger is hissing instructions in his ear." [...]
Professor Lupin raised his eyebrows.
"I was hoping that Neville would assist me with the first stage of the operation, he said, and I am sure he will perform admirably."
00
Second Floor
[ ]Moaning Myrtle's Bathroom
"It's been out of order all year because she keeps having tantrums and flooding the place."
-- Hermione (CS8)
00
[ ]Ancient Runes
Learn the tools of magic and divination. There are many types of runes, all of them alphabets of some sort. Anglo-Saxon, Norse. They are usually tossed randomly after deciding a subject, and then deciphered based on their positioning.
00
Third Floor
[ ]Charms
Charms are a type of magic spell concerned with enchanting an object to behave in a way that isn't normal for that object. For example, the Summoning Charm brings an object to the caster. Charms is also something of a catch-all for spells that aren't Transfiguration (spells that change the inherent nature of an object). In some sense, if a spell isn't Transfiguration, it's probably a Charm.

"A warning: If you rip, tear, shred, bend, fold, deface, disfigure, smear, smudge, throw, drop, or in any other manner damage, mistreat, or show lack of respect towards this book, the consequences will be as awful as it it within my power to make them."
-- Irma Pince, written inside a library book
00
[ ]Mirror of Erised Room
"It does not do well to dwell on dreams and forget to live."
00
[ ]Arthimancy
The magical study of numbers... yay
00
Fifth Floor
[ ]Prefects Bathroom
Inside, the bathroom's walls, floor, and single sunken bathtub are all made of white marble, lit softly by a candle-filled chandelier that impressed Harry on his first visit. The rectangular tub is the size and depth of a swimming pool, and even has a diving board, but unlike an ordinary pool the tub is lined with about a hundred taps, each with a differently coloured jewel set into the handle. Each tap automatically releases not only water, but bubble bath (a different kind of bubble bath for each colour-coded handle). A pile of fluffy white towels are kept in one corner
00
Sixth Floor
[ ]Transfiguration
"Transfiguration is some of the most complex and dangerous magic you will learn at Hogwarts. Anyone messing around in my class will leave and not come back. You have been warned."
00
Seventh Floor
[ ]Headmaster's Office
The entrance to the headmaster's (or headmistress', depending on the era in question) office at Hogwarts is behind a statue of a gargoyle on the seventh floor.
00
[ ]Divination
"Broaden your minds, my dears, and allow your eyes to see past the mundane!"
-- Sibyll Trelawney

"I think Divination seems very woolly. A lot of guesswork, if you ask me."
-- Hermione Granger
00
[ ]Gryffindor Common Room
"You might belong in Gryffindor,
where dwell the brave at heart,
their daring, nerve and chivalry
set Gryffindors apart.."
00
Towers
[ ]Owlery
The Owlery was a circular stone room, rather cold and drafty, because none of the windows had glass in them. The floor was entirely covered in straw, owl droppings, and the regurgitated skeletons of mice and voles. Hundreds upon hundreds of owls of every breed imaginable were nestled here on perches that rose right up to the top of the tower, nearly all of them asleep.
00
[ ]Ravenclaw Common Room
Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw
If you've a ready mind
Where those of wit and learning
Will always find their kind.
00
[ ]Astronomy
"Jupiter's biggest moon is Ganymede, not Callisto,... and it's Io that's got the volcanos."
"... I think you must have misheard Professor Sinistra, Europa's covered in ice, not mice"
00
Hogwart's Ground
[ ]Herbology
Herbology is the study of magical plants and fungi, including their care and their magical properties and uses. Some magical plants form important ingredients in potions, others have magical effects in their own right.
00
[ ]Care of Magical Creatures
"C'mon, now, get a move on! Got a real treat for yeh today! Great lesson comin' up! Everyone here? Right, follow me!"
-- Rubeus Hagrid, at the start of his first ever lesson (PA6)
00
[ ]Flying
Got your broom? Not afraid of heights? This is where you learn to fly.
00
[ ]The Quidditch Pitch
"Let us win, but if we cannot win, let us break a few heads."
-- Falmouth Falcons club motto (QA7)
"I've become accustomed to seeing the Quidditch Cup in my study, boys, and I really don't want to have to hand it over to Professor Snape, so use the extra time to practice, won't you?"
-- Professor McGonagall lets her fifth year Gryffindor Transfiguration class off homework (OP19)
00
[ ]The Front Gates
Bearing down from the top of the gates, are two statues of winged boars.
00
[ ]The Courtyard

00
[ ]The Lawns
There is a wide flat lawn opposite the castle from the forest and Hagrid's hut where the first-years took their first flying lesson. There are sloping lawns lead down toward the forest and border the lake.

00
[ ]The Lake
It's located to the south of the castle, which stands on a cliff overlooking the water. There are a variety of interesting creatures and is a great place to just relax.
00
[ ]The Whomping Willow
"I told you, months ago, that the Whomping Willow was planted the year I came to Hogwarts. The truth is that it was planted because I came to Hogwarts."
-- Remus J. Lupin
00
[ ]The Grounds Keeper's Hut

00
[ ]The Forbidden Forest
"There are good things in there, too. The centaurs are all right, and the unicorns..."
-- Harry Potter
"The forest hides many secrets."
-- Ronan (PS15)
Off limits to students!
00
Hogsmeade
[ ]The Hog's Head
Dirty, dingy, dodgy-- Pretty much sums it all up.
"Yeh get a lot o' funny folk in the Hog's Head...."
-- Rubeus Hagrid, PS16
We advise you to bring your own glasses.
00
[ ]The Three Broomsticks
The Three Broomsticks is the popular pub in Hogsmeade. Not that is has much competition from The Hog's Head. Come in and have a drink!

[ ]Madam Puddifoot's
A small, cramped tea shop with decor on the tacky side of frilly (such as floating golden cherubs throwing pink confetti), located just off High Street. The only Hogwarts students who seem to patronize the place are trysting couples.
00
[ ]Shops
"They make a fuss about Hogsmeade, but I assure you, Harry, it's not all it's cracked up to be. All right, the sweetshop's rather good, and Zonko's Joke Shop's frankly dangerous, and yes, the Shrieking Shack's always worth a visit, but really, Harry, apart from that, you're not missing anything."
-- Percy Weasley, PA8
00
[ ]Hogsmead Station
A "tiny, dark platform" where the Hogwarts Express ends its journey north from Platform .Nine-And-Three-Quarters. The station is located near the lake, and from there a road extends around the lake to Hogwarts Castle. The station is actually quite a distance from the town itself, being on the opposite side of the Hogwarts grounds.
00
[ ]The Shrieking Shack
Falsely rumored to be "the most haunted building in Britain," the Shrieking Shack is a favorite stop on any Hogsmeade visit. However, the wails that were once heard emanating from this creepy building were not in fact ghosts, but rather Remus Lupin transformed into a werewolf. The shack, in fact, was built when he came to Hogwarts, allowing him to transform a safe distance away from the other students. The shack cannot be broken into from the outside, though Fred and George have tried; it must be entered instead through a secret passageway, the mouth of which lies under the Whomping Willow.

The Wizard World
[ ]The Regime Head Quarters
Where order and discipline reign... The new Ministry of Magic!
00
[ ]Azkaban
"They don't need walls and water to keep the prisoners in, not when they're trapped inside their own heads, incapable of a single cheerful thought. Most go mad within weeks."
-- Remus Lupin, PA10
00
[ ]The Ruins of the Ministry of Magic
In the first uprising and the take over of the regime, the ministry was destroyed. One can still take the visitor's entrance, but few have dared to enter the unsafe structure.
00
[ ]St. Mungo's Hospital (6 sub-boards)
Doctors? Those Muggle nutters that cut people up? Nah, they're Healers."
00
[ ] Psychiatric Center and Hospital (1 sub-board)
Feeling down? Not understanding your world? Be careful though, not all the psychologists are here to help you: The Regime has planted many to warp your thoughts.
